As of October 2026 TradeCopia lists three plans, each showing a list price struck through next to a discounted price. Pro (Desktop) is $49.99/mo shown as $34.99, or $104.98 every 3 months; it runs as a Windows/Mac app and carries a 7-day free trial on monthly or quarterly billing. Pro+ Lite (Web/VPS) is $79.99/mo shown as $59.99, or $179.98 quarterly, browser-based on managed hosting, also with a 7-day trial on monthly or quarterly. Pro+ (Dedicated VPS) is $149.99/mo shown as $119.99, or $359.98 quarterly, on a single-tenant VPS with a static IP, with no trial.

Yearly billing exists at 30%, 25% and 20% off respectively, but the page does not print the yearly figures and yearly plans carry no trial. All plans include unlimited follower accounts and unlimited copied orders. The policy line to note: purchases are 'final and non-refundable, including charges after the free trial ends'. A one-time courtesy refund may be requested — 'not guaranteed', prorated, minus a processing fee. Cancel before day 7 and you are not charged.

TradeCopia advertises direct broker connections to Tradovate, NinjaTrader, Rithmic and TopstepX, plus TradingView webhook strategy alerts on Pro+ Lite, with ProjectX, Quantower, ATAS, Sierra Chart and Tradesea also listed. It captures market, limit, stop, bracket and OCO orders from the broker, supports decimal per-account multipliers (0.5x, 1.3x, 2.5x, rounded up) and force-micro/mini mapping, and offers per-account daily loss, profit and trade-count limits, distance-to-drawdown monitoring, paper testing, a P&L dashboard, trade history, a prop firm tracker and a consistency calculator with Apex, Topstep, TPT and Tradeify presets. The desktop app adds Flatten Group and a Position Reconciler; Pro+ Lite adds a manual lockout.

The desktop app is the thing reviewers mention most — 'nice there's an app unlike most other competitors'. TradeCopia itself frames local execution as depending on your hardware and connection, which cuts both ways: no hosted middleman, but no copying when your PC is off. On credentials the desktop app says 'no passwords stored', encrypted on your machine. What is not described in its public material: whether a follower fill that did not come from the leader is detected and closed. It publishes no latency figure.

TradeCopia holds a 4.8/5 TrustScore across 366 reviews, with 93% five-star. Praise is consistent: easy setup, the desktop app, multiple copy groups, low slippage, and support from the founder ('he's not just a support guy, he's CEO').

The negative minority cite 'latency issues, mismatched profit and loss data, or instances where trades failed to copy properly', a learning curve ('take the time and learn how to use the system first'), and that it 'still doesn't copy perfectly'. Reddit threads about TradeCopia are sparse; the complaints that do surface — delays, 'ghost orders', followers filling a couple of seconds late — are usually attributed to network or configuration on the user's side, which is the inherent risk of a desktop copier.

Who should switch (and who shouldn't)

Switch to TradeDupe if you are on Pro desktop and have been burned by your machine or connection dropping mid-session, or you are paying $59.99–$119.99 for a hosted TradeCopia tier and every account is on Tradovate. TradeDupe is hosted on every plan starting at $30/mo: a worker listens to Tradovate's execution-report stream and dispatches follower orders in parallel the moment the leader fill arrives, mirrors bracket TP/SL to each follower including modifications and cancels, market-closes rogue follower fills, lets you toggle a single follower off, and authorizes through Tradovate OAuth so it never sees your password.

Stay on TradeCopia if you copy NinjaTrader, Rithmic, TopstepX or TradingView-webhook accounts, if you specifically want local execution on your own hardware, if decimal multipliers or unlimited followers on the cheapest plan matter to you, or if your setup is working and you have a prepaid quarter left — remember there are no refunds.

How to switch from TradeCopia to TradeDupe

Keep TradeCopia running. Start a TradeDupe trial, authorize your Tradovate login through Tradovate's OAuth screen, pick the leader, toggle on followers. Place one small test trade and confirm the entry, bracket and exit all mirror in TradeDupe's live execution feed. Both copiers can read the same Tradovate login during the trial, so if you want a side-by-side, run both for one session on the same leader — then remove followers in TradeCopia so nothing is copied twice, and let your TradeCopia term expire.
